A A A The Coral Welsh National at Chepstow Racecourse

Chepstow racecourse holds an annual ladies night during the summer.
This event is well attended and is usually held during July and therefore quite often is blessed with good weather.
The events are supporting a good nights racing which although not of the highest calibre, is never the less enjoyable and quite often competitive.

There are stalls where you may purchase various item and not all of them are racing related.

There is usually some type of entertainment here you can see the Elite Jazz Band who played throughout the evening.

Pimms, Champagne and strawberries are among the refreshments that can be purchased in the parade ring village that is the old parade ring behind the stands.

There is also a competition held for the best dressed ladies. The judges are looking for Best Hat and also the Best Dress Costume of the evening.

The winner of the best outfit won a treatment for two people at the Nirvana Health Spa, Berkshire and the runner up won two Membership badges for Chepstow Racecourse for the rest of the year.

The winner and runner up of the Best Hat both won a Couture Hat from the summer range at Debenhams.

All finalists receive two complimentary Day Members badges for another Chepstow evening meeting.
In 2002 there was also a special winner who was the young lady pictured here.
