On Behalf of the Countryside Alliance and Chepstow Racecourse we welcome you to this, the first 'Countryside Raceday' to be hosted here at Chepstow.
Today's event is being held, not only to allow many to have a 'good day's racing' but to bring together also like-minded people, from the countryside. Importantly, today has also been arranged to raise awareness and funds for the Countryside Alliance.
This race meeting is very much a coming-together of people and importantly a fund raising event to help with the challenges we face.
The link between National Hunt racing, the Point-to-Point race meetings and that of hunting is well defined.
Jacky Thomas MFH. Chairman of the Countryside Alliance's Raceday.
The date of this event was the 8th of May 2002.
