=============================================

1 Hey Big Spender (IRE) 31    8    11-12    C L Tizzard    J Tizzard

Nice young chaser who comes here on the back of a good win in a listed race at Newcastle. Set to carry top weight today and looks to have plenty on his plate here.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/Soft to heavy.

2 Carruthers 31    8    11-8 t    M Bradstock    Matthew Batchelor

Really fine horse who has been contesting the top races for a few years now. Winner of the Hennessy Gold Cup Chase over three miles two and a half furlongs last time out at Newbury. One of the class acts in the race and if his weight is not too much should be in with a shout at the end of the race.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good to heavy.

3 Blazing Bailey 31    9    11-5    A King    W Hutchinson

Good hurdler who is a reasonable chaser. PU in last years Scottish National and was struggling that day. Only one run this season 8th behind Carruthers in the Hennessy giving 5lbs, getting 3 lbs this time but will have to improve to turn that 16 length beating.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/firm to heavy.

4 Cappa Bleu (IRE) 38    9    11-3 t    Evan Williams    Paul Moloney

Ex Pointer who is going well for Evan Williams. Won a nice handicap chase at Haydock last time out off a rating of 140. Gone up 7lbs for that and will have to improve again to win this.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/soft to heavy.

5 Galaxy Rock (IRE) 45    7    11-2 b    Jonjo O'Neill    D C Costello

Progressive 7 year old who was 4th in last seasons Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup at the festival. Looks better at the longer distances and could be one to note it there is a move in the market.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good to heavy.

6 Viking Blond (FR) 33    6    10-9 b    N A Twiston-Davies    S Twiston-Davies

Good young chaser stepping up in class here. Comes from a good stable who do well in this race and looks to be the stables first string. Another who will have to improve but he likes this course with two of his three wins coming here. Good chance!
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/Soft to heavy.

7 As De Fer (FR) (ex4) 29    5    10-9    A J Honeyball    S Thomas

Progressive five year old who has run well. Takes a big jump in class here and looks to have too much to make up on others but this will be a good guide to his future running..
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/Soft to heavy.

8 Giles Cross (IRE) 44    9    10-6    V R A Dartnall    D F O'Regan

Really good long distance chaser. Third in the midlands National in 2010, 2nd in this race last year and 2nd in the Eider Handicap Chase. Won first time out this season in the Southern National. Great chance here and looks the one to beat.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/Soft to heavy.

9 Or Noir De Somoza (FR) 32    9    10-6 bt    D Pipe    Conor O'farrell (3)

Won 8 races on the bounce in france and ran well in all is races all at 2m6f or less before his UK debut in the Grand National where he fell at the 6th. Could be anything but has not shown any form at these extreme distances.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Soft to heavy.

10 Any Currency (IRE) 24    8    10-3 p    M Keighley    A P Cawley

3rd in the London National at Sandown last time out. Always put in a good run but has to improve considerably here and may not handle heavy ground.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good to Soft.

11 Knighton Combe 36    11    10-2    Jamie Snowden    Brendan Powell (7)

Well exposed long distance chaser. winner of the Britannia English Summer National over 3m4f but needs good ground to show his best.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/Firm to Good/Soft.

12 Cannington Brook (IRE) (ex4) 10    7    10-2    C L Tizzard    T J O'Brien

Young consistent staying chaser. Winner of the Tommy Whittle Handicap Chase over three miles in heavy ground. Stable keeps in the top weight which leaves this horse carrying 10st 2lbs and looks an interesting prospect.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Soft to Heavy.

13 Le Beau Bai (FR) (ex4) 24    8    10-1 b    R Lee    C Poste

Good long distance chaser who was beaten into 3rd place when fav in this race in 2009. Comes back here on the back of a good 3m handicap win at this course earlier this month in the same ground and was staying on well that day. Could well be in the shake up at the end of this race.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/Soft to Heavy.

14 Indifference Curve (FR) 51    9    10-0 p    Miss M M O'Sullivan    W Kennedy

Consistent type over distances much shorter than this and has nothing to show that he may stay this marathon trip.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Soft to Heavy.

15 Master Overseer (IRE) 24    8    10-0 pt1    D Pipe    T Scudamore

Winner of the Sussex National in Jan 2010 and then was not seen until the same race this year where he was 2nd over 3m5f. Winner of a three mile chase here in November but found more difficult in December off 9lbs higher. Still at that rating today and must improve but a good strong front runner who likes this course and looks too high a price. An interesting runner from a yard that does well here. Could well be in the frame here and who knows?
Wins have come on ground ranging from Soft to Heavy.

16 Mumbles Head (IRE) 66    10    10-0    P Bowen    D Crosse

Nice horse who finds one or two too good. Looks handicapped up to his mark and will need others to run poorly to to part in the shake up given the unsuitable ground conditions.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good/Firm to Good/Soft.

17 Ballyfitz 23    11    10-0 p    N A Twiston-Davies    David England

Really nice long distance staying chaser. 4th in this race last year and despite being the stables second string should run well in these conditions. Beaten fav last time out when fancied. Good Chance of improving on his last run in this race.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good to Heavy.

18 Our Island (IRE) 10    6    10-0 p1    Tim Vaughan    Aidan Coleman

Interesting ex-pointer who has been running well and finishing races like he needs further. Something of a dark horse here today and could be one of the better outsiders. Runs from just out of the handicap.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good to Soft.

19 Heathcliff (IRE) 51    9    10-0 b    R Lee    T Messenger

A winner of only 1 of his 6 chasers and running from out of the handicap. Looks to have it all to do in this race and would be surprise winner.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good to Heavy.

20 Bench Warrent (IRE) 10    8    10-0 p    C J Mann    Gavin Sheehan (10)

Has not won for a few years and unless there is a big move in the betting looks to have little chance today.
Wins have come on ground ranging from Good to Soft.
