Well it is time to look back on last years race and to look ahead to the 2003 Coral Eurobet Welsh National.
Last years winner after going on from the race to land the Singer and Friedlander National Trial, he then lost his way and was pulled up on two occasions after and was not seen out again probably because of the ground as he needs it very soft to show his best.
The second horse Chives went on and came a very good second to the very smart Valley Henry in the Aon Chase before his good 7th in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. This looked to put him in good stead for the Grand National but unfortunately he broke a blood vessel and his jockey quickly pulled him up.
Gunner Welburn ran a poor race in his first outing after the Welsh National but then won very impressively in the Skybet.com Handicap Chase at Newbury, which made him look the right type for the Grand National in which he ran a great race with much credit to come fourth.
Frosty Canyon ran in and out after his good run in the race last year and looks a little frustrating.

Well the first three are declared again to run this year and the other entries also look very exciting. With dual National winner Bindaree taking his chance again, Moral Support another Welsh National winner also lining up and also some smart horses with the likes of Kingsmark, Deano's Beano and Add Hoc all being declared. It looks like we could again be in for another memorable race.
