2000  Race 6The Hortray Builders Novices' Hurdle Race ( Class D )
The final jump race of the day was a 2 and a half mile hurdle race.As they set off for the first hurdle My Baton was the leader followed by Yancy Tucker and then Lilly Plant. At the first the leaders jumped it well but the favourite Cresswell Native met it all wrong and unseated his rider. Lillieplant also made a mistake. all horses finished the other obstacles in the straight and only Kelnik Glory who was tailed off was falling behind. As they went out to the far side of the track Lillieplant was in the lead from Suntas. They jump the first two in the back with no problems and go on to the next two. At the next there is no change. At the last in the back all jump well bur Yancy Tucker is pulled up. They turn into the final straight and Open the Box is pulled up. At the first in the home straight Turtle Valley is just in the lead but there are three in with a chance. 
At the third last the order is Turtle Valley followed by Suntas and Tango Royal. Two from home and Turtle Valley is 3 lengths ahead of Suntas who is 10 ahead of My Baton. At the last Turtle valley jump it well but Suntas makes a mistake and lets Turtle valley win without any company, Suntas finishes 5 lengths behind in second and third a further 20 behind is My Baton.
