2000  Race 2 The Betexchange.co.uk Handicap Hurdle Race ( Class D ) 
This is a valuable race with a penalty value of 10,400 pounds. A race for four years olds and upwards.Harvis was the only seriously backed horse in the race, Distant Storm was the winner last year but he was second fav today. There were two jockey changes in this race and A Dobbin took the place of an injured J.R.Kavanagh and also Hope value was to be ridden by J.Goldstien in place of the injured T.Scudamore. Fridolin was also a non-runner because the trainer was worried that there was some frost still in the ground. So off they went at the start and the lead was taken by Secret Dell, at the first hurdle Hope Value took off far too soon and landed on the hurdle and fell. That is the only hurdle to be jumped before they go past the stands and the winning post so they all went on to go around the bend and up the hill to face the first in the back The leaders at it was Secret dell followed by Distant Storm and then Selberry then Harvis and so onto the third. All jumped well and they started to bunch up before the fourth fence. At the next Selberry jumped into the lead and started to go on. As they leave the back there is a long run to the first in the home straight. There are four in a line Harvis, Reggie buck Selburry and Allegiance. 
At the next Harvis jumps well and is going well and the others are being hard ridden. All jump it well. Two from home Harvis goes for home and has 5 lengths advantage to the others jumps the hurdle and then makes his way over to the stand side. At the last Harvis goes clear by 7 lengths. He then goes on to win in his own time, followed 5 lengths by Allegiance and the 2 further back is Reggie buck.
